Old Portsmouth Shed applied for Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) status (Aug 2016)

The Old Portsmouth Men's Shed successfully obtained Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) status Oct, 2016 .

The new CIO is now called the Portsea Men's Shed (CIO)

Original Shed Started Jan 2015

Thanks to the support of St. George's Church, we started a Men's shed for Old Portsmouth (Now Portsea Men's Shed) in 3 small adjoining rooms at the back of the church.

A growing membership has helped to repair and redecorate these rooms and some of the communal areas of the church.

We have laid new flooring and built suitable work benches.
Many tools and machine tools have now been either donated or purchased through funding.

The group are now looking at a number of ideas for projects and activities for its shed members.
These are suggested by the members themselves as the purpose of the group is to be directed by the members.

Some of the suggestions include various woodwork projects, walks, cycling, card / board games, digital photography, computer / tablet / smart phone skills. We also look at suggested community projects (e.g. The Round Table has asked us to build a Santa Sled for fund raising).
Then of course there is the tea and a chat project, which is well attended.

So why not see what we do and think about joining us.
